to our website. Ross Union serves five parishes in the beautiful Rosscarbery
area of West Cork. The Churches in the union are: St. Fachtna’s
Cathedral in Rosscarbery, Castleventry, Union Hall, Glandore and Leap.
Although we are a relatively small Church community there is a genuine
commitment to Sunday worship and to the various activities throughout
the week.
This
is an area steeped in history and St. Fachtna’s Cathedral
stands on a site where Christians have gathered for worship for
over 1400 years. We are very conscious of this sacred tradition
and also of the challenges facing the Church in our own day.
The
Cathedral is open every day and large numbers of visitors come to
it. We like to think of them as pilgrims who find here a sense of
God’s presence and peace. If you are ever in the area we hope
you will pay us a visit.
You will find details about each Church and the services on this
website. We welcome people of all traditions to join us in our worship
and communicant members of all Churches may share with us at Holy
Communion.
We
have recently embarked on a major restoration project at the Cathedral.
The ravages of time and the Irish weather have produced problems
which need urgent attention. The project leaflet has been reproduced
on this site.
